SHOULD I GO WITH WORDPRESS OR A COMPANY SITE BUILDER?
There’s no doubt about it, WordPress Websites are the way to go, over Company built Sitebuilders because they sometimes change them.
I had this happen twice to me with the same Company – Vistaprint. It is very stressful, you put all your hard work – energy and certain expenses – into your Website/Websites and next thing, the Webhost wants to “Update” their Sitebuilder you are accustomed to using – especially if you were a Newbie at Websites, or you have a Website that is complex in nature, the way it runs.
Yes, all because your Webhost wants to go more modern or trendy. And there is no way to stop their wheels of “Progress”………….. bother your Websites performance and the Momentum you have worked diligently to achieve. Because every time a Change of Sitebuilders occurs, there is some measure of disruption that goes on, be it much or little., things are not the same.
If you have a Business Website, this may effect your Flow of Sales and Relating with Customers Online. Not to mention, when you are perhaps very busy or stressed, there’s a “New Learning Curve” you have to take on (unprecedented) that slows you down and you need to gather Momentum again.
I was told by Vistaprint “it will be a smooth transition”………….. they did not live up to the expectations they gave me.
This jeopardised the performance of my Websites, effecting the number of Visitors I had each month on several Websites. The difference was quite drastic – SEO Work for Site Engine Optimization (to show up well in Google and Firefox etc) was lost in the Migration stage, and the phone worker says
“I apologize for your inconvenience”………….. I assure you, when this happens, you feel like you could scream. it’s so exasperating.
All because the Companies want to do something different – like when people want a change in furniture and furnishings – it’s not about you, it’s about them, however their mood takes them. A lot of Webhosting Companies go that way, so there is an element of uncertainty. I say these things not to be negative but to spare you those hassles because sometimes it’s big loss of profits, and sometimes it’s your “Pride and Joy” whatever type of Website/Websites you have worked to achieve.
YOUR WORDPRESS WEBSITES ARE PERMANENT
– BUILT TO LAST, IF YOU KNOW A FEW THINGS TO WATCH OUT FOR WHEN CHOOSING A THEME (Website Design).
The very 1st benefit to consider is, if you wish to change Webhosting Companies, due to Price Change, Hidden Expenses or Poor Service, you can………… you can take your Website/Websites WITH YOU. This is clearly impossible when they are built with a Company Sitebuilder.
WordPress is different and it’s great in this way! Also other ways!
